Etihad Airways wins 25 global awards in 2025

Abu Dhabi, December 23 / WAM / Etihad Airways won more than 25 prestigious international awards during the year 2025, covering various aspects of the travel experience, from the design of cabins and services on board, to safety standards and operational excellence.

The carrier achieved an exceptional achievement during the year, becoming the fourth airline in the world, and the first in the region, to receive a seven-star plus safety rating from AirlineRatings, which is the highest rating in the internationally accredited and prestigious safety rating system.

During the closing ceremony of the World Travel Awards, Etihad Airways received three global awards: Best Customer Experience for an Airline in the World, Best Economy Class for an Airline in the World, and Best Business Class Lounge for an Airline in the World, for the Premium Class Lounge at Zayed International Airport.

The carrier achieved a remarkable achievement during the World Travel Awards for the Middle East region in October, by winning five regional awards that included: Best Airline in the Middle East in terms of customer experience, Best Economy Class, Best in-flight entertainment system, Best Business Class lounge, and Best cabin crew in the region.

Etihad Airways received the “Five-Star Global Airline” rating for 2026 from APEX, and the AirHelp Score Index for 2025 ranked Etihad second in the world with a score of 8.07 out of 10, recording a remarkable jump of nine places compared to the previous year, based on standards of punctuality, customer satisfaction, and claims handling in more than 60 countries, in clear testimony to operational excellence during a period of rapid growth.

Airline Ratings ranked Etihad Airways among the five best full-service airlines in terms of safety in the world, while Airline Economics crowned the carrier with the “Airline of the Year 2025 – Aviation 100 for the Middle East and Africa” award during the Growth Frontiers conference in Dubai.

These awards come at a time when Etihad Airways continues to invest billions of dollars in enhancing the guest experience across its various operations.

Starting from Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, which is classified as one of the best airports in the world, Etihad Airways provides a seamless travel experience from check-in to boarding, supported by world-class lounges and modern facilities that enhance guests’ comfort.

Skytrax honored Etihad Airways with the Best First Class Catering Award in the Middle East, and Business Traveler Middle East also awarded the carrier with the Best Cabin Crew and Best Economy Class awards.

APEX Future Travel Experience EMEA awarded Etihad Airways with the award for Best Seat Comfort in the Middle East, while The Design Air magazine chose the carrier as the Best Designed Airline in the Middle East, celebrating its distinguished identity in cabin design.

The designs of luggage bags and interior products have also won several awards, with the PAX International Awards honoring a children’s bag inspired by Warner Bros. characters. Superheroes, along with booth design in the Middle East category. The bag itself also won the TravelPlus Awards in the children over six category.

The Onboard Hospitality Awards awarded Etihad Airways a gold medal for its limited-edition First Class bags, specially designed to celebrate the airline’s 20th anniversary, in addition to honoring Economy Class innovations.

Aviation Business Middle East honored Etihad Airways with the Customer Experience Initiative of the Year Award, while the DRI ASEAN Awards awarded the carrier the Best Business Continuity Management Organization in the GCC region, in recognition of its operational flexibility and advanced risk management plans.

Etihad Airways’ cargo arm also won the award for excellence in customer centricity in the B2B sector for the Middle East region at the Customer Centricity World Series Awards. It received two awards from STAT Times International Awards: Air Cargo Operator of the Year in the Middle East, and the Innovative Logistics Solutions Award in Air Cargo.

Antonualdo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, said that winning more than 30 international awards in one year is an exceptional achievement that reflects the Etihad family’s passion and unwavering commitment to excellence.
