“Tenders”: A new seawater desalination plant with reverse osmosis on Hawar Island

In its session tomorrow, the Tenders and Auctions Board will open 13 tenders belonging to 9 government agencies, including 5 tenders for the Electricity and Water Authority (Planning and Studies Department). One of these tenders is concerned with the construction work of the new Hawar station for desalination of seawater by reverse osmosis, as the authority intends to launch an international public tender to build a new station on the basis of an EPC contract, with a production capacity of one million gallons per day of potable water.

Bidders are required to have experience in designing, building and operating at least two desalination plants during the past 10 years with a production capacity of no less than two million gallons per day and at least two years of successful operation.

Another tender will also be opened for the Electricity and Water Authority, related to transporting diesel fuel to the Hawar station to produce electricity and water on Hawar Island in a safe, timely and uninterrupted manner.

Among the tenders listed for opening is a tender for the Northern Region Municipality, related to the development of the Abu Sobh coast, through the supply of outdoor furniture, installation and operation of CCTV cameras with cables and other system components, rehabilitation of buildings and structures, provision of play equipment, repair and patching of damaged areas for parking lots, construction of an electrical switchboard room of size 1.5 meters
