The Ruler of Sharjah directs the placement of imams and muezzins within the emirate’s general government staff

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, directed that all imams and muezzins in the emirate’s mosques be placed on the general staff of the Sharjah government.
His Highness’s directive included granting imams and muezzins all the benefits enjoyed by government employees, including promotions, bonuses, health insurance, and a nature of work allowance of 3,000 dirhams.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah also directed that the periodic leave of imams and muezzins be organized so that their right to the balance of their periodic leave is not forfeited if they do not wish to exhaust this balance, and the cash allowance is paid from it in coordination with the Department of Islamic Affairs. This directive comes in appreciation of the nature of their job duties related to serving the Houses of God.
