9 people were killed in a fire in a clothing factory in Cairo

A massive fire inside a factory and clothing store in a 12-storey property in the Zaytoun neighborhood in the center of the Egyptian capital, Cairo, resulted in the death of 9 people and the injury of 9 others, including 5 in serious condition.
The fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon, and extinguishing operations continued until Wednesday dawn. Fire brigades continued cooling work during daylight hours to prevent the fire from igniting again.
The police arrested 3 brothers, the owners of the factory, after investigations proved that the facility was operating without a legal license and did not include the necessary means of protection, while the Public Prosecution initiated investigations and requested forensic reports to determine the causes of death, in addition to forming an urgent engineering committee to examine the damaged property and its suitability for habitation.
Cairo Civil Protection Forces were able to control the fire after many hours of effort, with the participation of 6 fire engines and 10 ambulances.
