The Sheikh of Al-Azhar renews his condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks on the UAE and the Gulf countries

Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, visited His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, at the headquarters of the Al-Azhar Sheikhdom, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation and consolidate bilateral relations.

During the meeting, His Eminence the Grand Imam welcomed Hamad Al Zaabi, stressing the depth of the historical ties that unite Al-Azhar with the UAE, and the continuous development it is witnessing.

His Eminence renewed Al-Azhar’s strong condemnation of the unjustified attacks on civilian facilities in the UAE, the Gulf countries, and the countries of the region, stressing its refusal to expose civilians to danger, wishing the region continued security, safety, tranquility and prosperity.

For his part, Hamad Al Zaabi affirmed the UAE’s deep appreciation for the efforts made by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in spreading the teachings of the Islamic religion, and its pivotal role in promoting the culture of world peace and consolidating the principles of human brotherhood in various regions.

He also stressed the UAE’s constant keenness to enhance the prospects for cooperation with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, as it is an important pillar in confronting extremist ideology and protecting societies from destructive ideas.

He explained that the UAE seeks, through this continuous coordination, to consolidate the values ​​of peaceful coexistence among peoples, and to work side by side with Al-Azhar to spare the peoples of the region and the world from conflicts and wars.
