"Sharjah Literature Festival" Reveals the program for its second session in 2026

Sharjah, December 25 / WAM / The Sharjah Literature Festival returns for its second session in 2026 with an expanded and comprehensive program that includes a distinguished group of cultural and entertainment experiences that give its visitors the opportunity to explore the richness of Emirati literature and its symbols and open paths for generations to continue the process of creativity and enrich the cultural scene in the Emirates and the region.

The festival’s agenda, which is jointly organized by the Emirates Publishers Association and the Sharjah Book Authority under the slogan “A Society Woven by Stories,” during the period from January 5 to 11 next in the courtyard of the University City Hall in Sharjah, includes a series of cultural, artistic and entertainment events and performances that translate the festival’s message of highlighting the Emirati literary and creative scene and promoting a fertile cultural environment through which literature becomes a bridge linking the past, present and future ambitions, consolidating Sharjah’s position as a beacon of thought. Culture and civilization.

Through its program, the festival continues to support publishers and entrepreneurs of creative craftsmen with the aim of enabling them to display their work to a wide audience, which contributes to supporting the creative industries in the emirate and the UAE.

This year, the festival welcomes the participation of a distinguished elite of Emirati media professionals in the fields of literature, poetry, thought, art, media, cooking and sports.

Emirati literary production will be present at the event, as over the course of its seven days it will witness the organization of a book fair with the participation of 42 Emirati publishing houses, offering a diverse range of local publications that meet the interests of different age groups and contribute to enriching the visitors’ experience. This presence confirms the status of Emirati literature as an integral part of the local and Arab cultural scene.

The festival also includes innovative stores to display and sell handicraft creations that blend modern aesthetics with the craftsmanship of Emirati heritage from local entrepreneurs.

Visitors will be waiting on the main stage of the festival this year for a busy program that combines culture, heritage and entertainment, and includes a group of dialogue sessions that address various topics, including “Ancient Civilization in Mleiha”, “Rules of Writing for Children”, “Electronic Games”, “Art and Music”, “Sports and Society”, “Street Photography”, “Star Observation and Photography”, and “The Table Brings Us Together”, in addition to poetry and dinner evenings that celebrate poetry and its atmosphere close to the people, and theatrical and musical performances. Singing and interactive stories, in addition to a daily corner for reading stories for children.

The festival’s program extends to a group of workshops that take participants to the worlds of fine art and visual art using artificial intelligence, comic characters, Arabic calligraphy, the basics of photography, content creation, and others.
