المملكة: 17 Yemeni parties and components appreciate the Kingdom’s position on the southern issue


17 Yemeni political parties and components appreciated the firm position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to as a just issue that has historical and social dimensions.

The parties welcomed the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the clear and frank position it included calling for the restoration of the situation in my governorateto what they were, through the return of the Transitional Council forces to their former barracks outside the two governorates, and their urgent exit from them according to organized arrangements and under the supervision of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy.

Containing the escalation

The parties said in a joint statement reported by the official Yemeni News Agency (Saba): "This position represents the essence of the treatment required at this stage and the correct approach to contain the escalation and prevent the imposition of any new facts by force, because of its direct impact on restoring security and stability, and in the interest of preserving societal peace and protecting the legal status of the Republic of Yemen."

The statement reaffirmed the Yemeni political parties and components’ support for the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council to contain the situation, calling on the Transitional Council to respond urgently, give priority to the language of reason and wisdom, and create a climate to address the southern issue in a fair and comprehensive manner, in accordance with the outcomes of the National Dialogue, the Riyadh Agreement, and the Declaration of the Transfer of Power, in a way that preserves the unity, security, and stability of Yemen.

The Southern Issue

The parties indicated that unilateral practices and the imposition of facts by force harm the justice of the Southern Issue and threaten its gains, and may push it into regional paths that isolate it from its surroundings and exclude it from any future political treatments or entitlements.

It is noteworthy that the parties that signed the statement are: the General People’s Congress, the Yemeni Congregation for Reform, The Nasserite Popular Unionist Organization, the Participating Peaceful Southern Movement, the Yemeni Rashad Party, the Justice and Construction Party, the Southern National Coalition, the Renaissance Movement for Peaceful Change, the National Solidarity Party, the Yemeni Unionist Rally Party, the Union of Popular Forces, the Peace and Development Party, the Arab Socialist Baath Party, the Hadhramaut National Council, the National Arab Socialist Baath Party, the Shabwa National General Council, and the Republican Party.
