An emergency meeting of the Arab League tomorrow to reject Israel’s recognition of “Somaliland”

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States announced the holding of an emergency meeting of the League Council at the level of delegates, tomorrow, to discuss developments related to Israel’s announcement of recognition of the so-called “Somaliland”, based on the request of the State of Somalia and the support of the Arab member states.

According to the secretariat statement, the meeting aims to emphasize the categorical Arab rejection of any unilateral measures or decisions that would affect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and to emphasize commitment to the principles of international law and the relevant Arab League and African Union resolutions, in addition to emphasizing full Arab solidarity with Somalia and supporting its legitimate institutions in a way that contributes to maintaining security and stability in the region.
