Global poll: Half of participants expect an economic recession in 2026

Center detection "Ipsos" Opinion polls announced the results of its global poll, which included 30 countries, on Public expectations for the global economy in 2026.
Nearly half of respondents (48% on average globally) said their country will experience an economic recession in 2026, while a third (33%) think a recession is unlikely.
Meanwhile, respondents were split on whether their disposable income (what a person can spend after basic monthly expenses) will be higher in 2026. 2026 than in 2025; Nearly half (47%) believe they will have a surplus of income after paying bills and living expenses, while 43% do not believe they will have more money to spend in the next year.
The survey revealed that nearly two in five (38% of respondents) believe that Major stock markets around the world will witness a collapse in 2026, while 39% believe that this possibility is unlikely.
In the latest opinion poll it conducted "Ipsos" On this topic in late 2021, a similar proportion (35% globally) expected a major collapse the following year.
Two-thirds (67%) of respondents expect Artificial Intelligence has led to the loss of many new jobs in their country, a slight increase over last year (64%).
On the other hand, two out of five respondents (43%) expect that artificial intelligence will lead to the creation of many new jobs, which is a stable percentage compared to last year (42%).
Over the past year, concern has increased that artificial intelligence will lead to job losses in 21 out of 30 countries.
