المملكة: “Your Local Guarantee”… a national campaign to raise the quality and safety of Saudi food
Launched Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture A strategic awareness campaign entitled “Your Local Guarantee”, to introduce the Saudi Good Agricultural Practices Program “Saudi GAP”, with the aim of enhancing the sustainability of Good agricultural practices at all stages of production, to ensure the safety of food crops, preserve natural resources from waste, and raise the efficiency of operational processes on farms.
The initiative focuses directly on supporting farmers and technicians by developing their professional skills, which contributes to enhancing the sustainability of the national food security system and opens new horizons for the development of the sector.
Organizing farm management
The “Saudi QAP” program is based on a package of stringent national technical standards that are applied to production.
The program contributes effectively to organizing farm management and applying advanced systems to combat pests and risks, with a commitment to protecting the health and rights of workers, which reflects positively on the agricultural work environment.
These standards aim to open wide marketing outlets for local products, and raise their competitiveness in local and international markets, to be the first choice for the consumer searching for quality and safety.
This campaign completes the process of efforts. The Ministry’s previous awareness campaigns, such as “Shatana Sah” and “Environmental Lens,” confirm the commitment of the concerned authorities to empowering farmers and protecting natural resources for future generations.
