International Court of Arbitration for the Asia-Pacific Region and"Opus 2" Expanding into Abu Dhabi International

ABU DHABI, 29 December / WAM / Abu Dhabi Global Authority (ADGM) announced today the establishment of the International Court of Arbitration in the Asia-Pacific region, with a center in Abu Dhabi Global, and the opening of an office within its Dispute Resolution Hearings Center.

The decision to establish the center constitutes a pivotal step in its international journey, and at the same time reflects the growing position of Abu Dhabi as a global center for arbitration, mediation and settlement of international disputes.

By choosing Abu Dhabi International as its regional headquarters, the Chamber strengthens the connection between the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East regions, and expands access to international arbitration services for entities operating across major global trade corridors.

This announcement comes in light of the continued growth witnessed by the Dispute Resolution Hearings Center in Abu Dhabi International, as Opus 2, the award-winning global provider of technology and legal services, which established its presence in Abu Dhabi International in 2024, also intends to open an office within the center.

These developments reflect the expansion of an integrated community of international dispute resolution institutions and service providers working through the center.

Linda Fitz-Allan, Registrar and CEO of Abu Dhabi Global Courts, said that the decision of the International Court of Arbitration in the Asia-Pacific region to establish its regional presence in Abu Dhabi Global Courts reflects the confidence that international arbitration institutions place in the legal structure in Abu Dhabi, and its neutrality and legal framework based on common law.

She stressed that Abu Dhabi Global continues to develop an integrated system that enables global institutions to work efficiently, supported by modern facilities, clear legislative foundations, and a firm commitment to the rule of law.

For his part, Asaad Khalil, Vice President of the International Court of Arbitration in the Asia-Pacific region, said that the decision is considered a strategic step in the growth process of the International Court of Arbitration in the Asia-Pacific region, across the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the broader region in the Middle East. The legal basis based on common law, in Abu Dhabi Global, its world-class framework, and its future vision, establishes standards of excellence, while its strategic location enables the court’s platform to expand its influence, enhance innovation, and shape the future of international arbitration.

For his part, Charlie Harrell, Chief Operating Officer at Opus 2, said that the company’s presence within the dispute resolution hearings center in Abu Dhabi Global confirms its commitment to supporting the evolving needs of arbitration and litigation processes in the region. This presence allows it to work closely with institutions, arbitration bodies and concerned parties, and provide integrated solutions for dispute resolution supported by the latest technologies.
