"Enoch" It affirms its commitment to strengthening the vital energy infrastructure in East Africa

Dubai, December 29 / WAM / ENOC Group affirmed its commitment to developing vital energy infrastructure projects in East Africa, and enhancing international cooperation in a way that supports sustainable regional development and achieves a positive social impact.

In this context, Hussein Sultan Lootah, Acting CEO of ENOC Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Horizon Djibouti Warehousing Company Limited, concluded a strategic visit to Djibouti and Ethiopia, where he stressed that his discussions focused on deepening relations to improve regional logistics services and support economic growth.

During his visit to Djibouti, Lootah met with His Excellency Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of Djibouti, where he praised the rapid pace of infrastructure development in Djibouti and discussed accelerating the expansion of critical storage infrastructure.

Lootah also held discussions with His Excellency Dr. Younes Ali Gedi, Minister of Energy of Djibouti, and a number of high-level government officials, and stressed ENOC’s support for advancing economic growth in Djibouti through the Horizon Djibouti Storage Company in line with national priorities. The discussions dealt with Horizon’s strategic projects, including increasing storage capacity and infrastructure projects in the energy sector.

In the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, the acting CEO of the ENOC Group met with the Minister of Energy, the Minister of Finance, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ethiopian Petroleum Supply Corporation (EPSE), the Chairman of the Ethiopian Investment Holding Company, the management of the Ethiopian Petroleum Supply Corporation, and the CEO of the Ethiopian-Djiboutian Railway Company. The meetings resulted in the formation of a specialized working group and the adoption of a price-setting mechanism, with the concerned parties agreeing to convene the working group periodically.

The ENOC delegation also visited the AMG Holdings (Affiliated Managers Group) factory at the invitation of the CEO of Ethiopia-Djibouti Railway Company. The tour provided an opportunity to see the operations of railway-related facilities related to the railway loading project of Horizon Djibouti Storage Company Limited.

Lootah said: By benefiting from the experience of the ENOC Group and Horizon Djibouti Storage Company Limited in managing storage facilities in the East African region, this strategic visit reinforces the ENOC Group’s commitment to developing the vital energy infrastructure and fuel storage capabilities in the region.
