Dubai Police completes its preparations for New Year’s celebrations in 2026

Dubai, December 29 / WAM / Dubai Police confirmed the completion of its preparations for New Year’s celebrations in 2026, as part of arrangements aimed at ensuring the highest levels of security and safety during events that witness a wide demand by visitors and tourists in a number of vital locations in the emirate.

His Excellency Major General Hareb Al Shamsi, Acting Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, confirmed that Dubai Police has completed all preparations and is working according to a proactive vision aimed at strengthening community confidence and providing a role model in securing major events, pointing out that New Year’s celebrations in Dubai are no longer just a local occasion, but rather a global event followed by millions around the world.

He added that securing New Year’s events in Dubai requires the highest levels of preparedness and coordination, and we at Dubai Police work as a team with our partners in all sectors to ensure that Dubai is always at the forefront in terms of security and organization, and we work to employ all our human and technical capabilities to ensure the safety of the public and their enjoyment of the festive atmosphere.

This came during a meeting chaired by Major General Hareb Al Shamsi regarding preparations for New Year’s celebrations in 2026, in the presence of directors of public departments, police stations, and specialized security and field work teams. The attendees discussed operational and security plans for regulating traffic, ensuring traffic flow, distributing security and field teams, and managing crowds, in addition to reviewing emergency plans, dealing with crises, and coordinating with governmental, semi-governmental, and private agencies, especially in major exhibition areas such as Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Frame, and Dubai Festival City.
