Dubai, December 30 / WAM / Former Brazilian star Cafu stressed that the “World Sports Summit” represents an important platform for celebrating sporting achievements and enhancing the spirit of communication between various sports, noting that honoring personalities who shone during their career reflects a deserved appreciation for the contributions of sports stars.

Cafu, captain of the Brazilian national team that won the 2002 World Cup, said in statements on the sidelines of his participation in the summit that such events contribute to consolidating the value of sports, especially football, which represents his primary field, expressing his aspiration to participate in future editions of the summit.

He explained to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the difference between the Brazilian team that won the 2002 World Cup and the current team is that the previous generation reached the peak of maturity and won the title, while the current generation is still in the building stage and striving to prove its ability to achieve achievement.

Regarding the Brazilian team’s chances of winning the next World Cup, Cafu stressed that the Seleção possesses all the elements to compete strongly for the title, noting that the team includes distinguished elements and a technical staff led by a coach with great experience, pointing out that the period remaining until the start of the tournament is sufficient to reach ideal readiness, and expressing his optimism in his country’s ability to compete for the 2026 World Cup title.

Regarding the importance of Neymar’s presence within the national team, Cafu stressed that participation in the World Cup requires the use of the best available elements, stressing that any player capable of providing a technical addition must be present.

Cafu touched on the reasons for Brazil’s failure to win the title during the last editions of the World Cup, explaining that the exit was the result of small details, and stressing that winning the World Cup requires reducing mistakes to a minimum and increasing focus in the decisive moments, in light of the difficulty of the tournament and the strength of the competition.
