Gold rises slightly and precious metals start the new year on highs

Precious metals are registered in A dollar per ounce, after hitting a record level of $4,549.71 last December 26.
US gold futures for February delivery increased 0.5 percent to $4,360.60 per ounce, achieving a huge rise in 2025, and the year concluded with annual gains of 64 percent, the largest since 1979.

Silver rose 2.1 percent to $72.75 per ounce, after recording its highest level ever at $83.62 last Monday, and silver ended the year with a rise of 147 percent, outperforming gold by a large margin.
Platinum increased 0.2 percent to $2,057.74 per ounce after rising to its highest level ever at $2,478.50, Recording its annual gains on LaunchAfter it rose 127 percent, palladium rose 2.4 percent to reach $1,642.90 an ounce, ending last year up 76 percent, its best performance in 15 years.
