Dubai launches “Street” to support defaulters due to rental claims

The Rental Disputes Resolution Center and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Foundation launched a new community initiative called “Sitr”, coinciding with designating the year 2026 as the Year of the Family, in support of the goals of the National Agenda for Family Growth in the UAE, and in line with the strategies of the two sides in consolidating social cohesion and humanitarian work in Dubai, and supporting families who have incurred rental payments, in a way that contributes to the stability of the local community.
The initiative aims to establish the values of solidarity and maintain the strength of the family fabric, through a humanitarian message centered on enabling the targeted families to live in safety and reassurance, and reflects the spirit of Dubai in spreading the values of goodness and supporting groups in need.
“Sitr” extends throughout the year 2026 as a joint call to assume social responsibility, and includes the release of defaulters due to rental claims and financial obligations, and raising the center’s performance indicators by closing the largest possible number of implementation files related to these issues, in addition to supporting social programs that enhance Dubai’s position as a pioneering city in humanitarian work locally and globally.
Head of the Rental Disputes Center, Abdul Qadir Musa Mohammed, said that “Sitr” constitutes an extension of the principles on which Dubai was founded, indicating that the center is not satisfied with judicial procedures, but rather extends a helping hand to struggling families according to precise standards that ensure that support reaches those who deserve it.
For his part, Saif Omar Al Dalil, member of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Foundation, appreciated this partnership, stressing the Foundation’s commitment to empowering humanitarian efforts in support of the Year of the Family.
The initiative is expected to have a wide impact by releasing 111 defaulters, settling 187 implementation files, and supporting 232 families, as the Foundation has allocated 10 million dirhams to enhance family stability, thus enhancing the humanitarian role of the Center in addition to its integrated judicial system in preserving rights and stabilizing the rental sector in Dubai.
