Brand Dubai launches the second edition of the “Dubai Homes in Ramadan” competition to celebrate the holy month

Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai Government Media Office, announced the launch of the second edition of the “Dubai Houses in Ramadan” competition, as part of the “Ramadan in Dubai” campaign, to celebrate the holy month and enhance its spiritual and social values, and to encourage community members to revive the tradition of decorating homes in a way that reflects the warmth of the people of Dubai in welcoming the month of goodness.
The competition is organized in cooperation with Emarat Al-Youm newspaper, in continuation of the success achieved by its first session, which witnessed wide community participation and contributed to creating a distinctive Ramadan atmosphere in Dubai’s neighborhoods, through the facades of houses that were transformed into light panels vibrant with beauty and creativity.
Valuable prizes and motivation for creativity
This year, the competition offers 15 financial prizes, the value of the first prize being 100,000 dirhams, while the second place winner gets 80,000 dirhams, the third place gets 60,000 dirhams, the fourth gets 40,000 dirhams, and the fifth gets 20,000 dirhams, in addition to 10 other prizes worth 10,000 dirhams each.
The initiative aims to encourage the largest possible number of families in Dubai to participate in beautifying the facades of their homes with innovative lighting and designs, inspired by the aesthetics of Emirati heritage, and translating the spirit of Ramadan in its finest form, in a scene that reflects the spirit of community cohesion and enhances Dubai’s position as a city of creativity on various occasions.
Authentic traditions
On this occasion, Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, confirmed that the competition, in its second year, continues to strengthen its presence as a community initiative that celebrates authentic Emirati values, saying:
“Through the second edition, we are keen to establish a beautiful community tradition that reflects the spirit of the holy month, and gives families an opportunity to express their joy at the advent of Ramadan in a creative way that reflects their cultural identity. We aspire to transform Dubai’s neighborhoods into an integrated visual scene that celebrates the spirituality of the month and embodies the values of cohesion and family that characterize our society.”
Integration between media and community initiatives
In turn, Ibrahim Shukrallah, editor-in-chief of Emarat Al Youm newspaper, said: “We are pleased to cooperate with Brand Dubai in the second edition of the “Dubai Houses in Ramadan” competition, which represents a distinguished model of integration between media and purposeful community initiatives. The competition is not limited to the aesthetic aspect of decorating homes, but rather reflects authentic values linked to the spirit of Ramadan, and enhances the concepts of family and community cohesion that characterize Dubai society.”
He added: “We believe that the role of the media goes beyond conveying news to supporting initiatives that contribute to consolidating cultural identity and enhancing the spirit of positive participation among members of society, and this competition embodies this trend by involving the public in creating a festive scene that reflects Dubai’s joy in the holy month.” He stressed that Emarat Al Youm newspaper will work to devote special coverage to the Ramadan atmosphere in Dubai and to the homes participating in the competition, by photographing them and highlighting their stories in the newspaper, which will give the participants a wider space to show their creativity, and contribute to documenting this beautiful Ramadan picture that Dubai homes paint year after year.
Open community participation
For her part, Sarah Merdas, member of the organizing committee of the “Dubai Homes in Ramadan” competition, said:
“We invite all residents of Dubai to participate in this initiative, which aims to transform our neighborhoods into spaces illuminated with joy and tranquility. Every house that participates in the competition contributes to drawing a collective painting that expresses the values of the holy month, and our greeting at the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan is translated by transforming the facades of houses into distinct light panels with their colors and designs inspired by the spirituality of the holy month… We believe that community participation is the essence of this initiative, and that every illuminated house adds a feature of this A wonderful festive painting.
Participation criteria
The competition adopts several basic criteria, including: that the entries be from homes in the Emirate of Dubai, that the front facades be decorated with lighting and various decorative elements, and that the owners of the house document the decorations of its facade, through a video clip that must be filmed in a creative way that highlights the values associated with the “Year of the Family,” and that the video be uploaded to the participant’s account on the “Instagram” platform, provided that the account is public, with the hashtag used. #Dubai_Houses_in_Ramadan2026, and adding a mention to the @BrandDubai accountbranddubai Taking into account that the last date for receiving entries is March 11, 2026.
It is worth noting that the “Dubai Homes in Ramadan” competition comes as part of a series of initiatives launched by “Brand Dubai” during the holy month, with the aim of enhancing the festive atmosphere, consolidating the values of communication and solidarity, and highlighting the creative character that distinguishes Dubai and its society.
