The second UAE Libraries Forum kicks off on January 12

Sharjah, 7 January / WAM / Under the patronage of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Book Authority, the Emirates Library and Information Association is organizing on the 12th and 13th of this January the “Second Emirati Libraries Forum” under the slogan “The Library between Artificial Intelligence and the Humanity of Knowledge” at the headquarters of the Sharjah Book Authority.

The forum highlights the renewed role of libraries in promoting culture and knowledge and exploring new horizons in digital transformation and creativity, in addition to discussing the balance between modern technologies, especially artificial intelligence, and the human values associated with the production and dissemination of knowledge.

The forum witnesses the participation of an elite group of local and international experts and specialists in the field of libraries and information, as it includes a diverse program of dialogue sessions and workshops focusing on the latest global practices and trends in library development and their role in supporting knowledge societies.

Fahd Ali Al Mamari, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, confirmed that Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi’s sponsorship of the forum represents great support for the library and information sector and reflects the Emirate of Sharjah’s keenness to consolidate its position as a global center for culture and knowledge.
