The Ministry of Education directed school administrations in all regions and governorates to immediately begin Correction work and careful review of male and female students’ grades to ensure fairness in the evaluation.
Entering all data into the Noor system
The Ministry stressed the necessity of entering all data and grades into the central electronic “Noor” system so that students and parents can view the results on the specified date.
The Ministry obligated schools to conduct a comprehensive inventory of the numbers of male and female students who were absent from taking tests with an acceptable excuse in order to include them on the lists of alternative tests according to the approved timetables.
/>The official instructions made it clear that students who dropped out of school during the current semester will have their status monitored with the phrase “absent” in the electronic system without resorting to the “folding of enrollment” procedure in order to preserve their academic records.
Absenteeism and Retaking of Exams
The Ministry has cut off efforts to improve grades, affirming categorically that the end-of-semester exam will not be repeated for any male or female student who has previously taken the exam, regardless of the reasons.
The regulations have specified the mechanism for evaluating a student who is absent “with an excuse.” By giving him the opportunity to take an alternative test of 40 points, while retaining the full grade for the year’s work, which is 60 points.
The system deals with the student who is absent “without excuse” by deducting attendance marks, as he takes a test of 60 points, including short and final exams, while retaining only 40 points allocated for the rest of the evaluation tools.
