Abdul Aziz bin Humaid inaugurates the first integrated charging station for electric vehicles in Ajman

AJMAN, 8th January, 2017 (WAM) – Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department of Land and Real Estate Regulation in Ajman, today inaugurated the first integrated charging station for electric vehicles in the emirate, which is the latest project of the Emirates Company for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (UAEV), and the first of its kind in the Northern Emirates.

Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi was briefed on the station’s facilities, which include the latest advanced technical systems in this field, and is distinguished by its ability to charge 20 vehicles at the same time, in addition to containing the fastest ultra-fast charger in the region with a capacity of 400 kilowatts, which contributes to enhancing the efficiency and performance of the electric vehicle charging system.

Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi learned about the most prominent features of the station, which is considered a strategic step aimed at developing the electric vehicle charging system and enhancing the transformation process towards sustainable mobility in the UAE.

His Excellency Engineer Sherif Al Olama, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Company (UAEV), said that the inauguration of the station reflects the UAE’s commitment to enhancing sustainability and developing a future transportation system, and translates the vision of the wise leadership in providing innovative infrastructure that supports clean transportation and contributes to improving the quality of life nationwide.

For his part, Ali Al Darwish, CEO of the Emirates Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Company (UAEV), stressed that the station is an advanced step in the UAE’s path towards achieving climate neutrality, and embodies our role as a national operator in developing an integrated charging system that goes beyond the traditional concept of charging stations. We are working to create integrated destinations that reshape the electric vehicle experience through innovation, design and sustainability, in a way that enhances customers’ confidence and gives them a more comfortable and smooth experience, and at the same time supports the future of mobility and clean energy in the country.

The new station, which combines contemporary aesthetics and high performance in its design, and offers a space that celebrates innovation, excellence, and sustainability alike, is consistent with the “UAEV” mission aimed at expanding the national charging network according to the highest standards of safety, innovation, and customer experience, in support of the UAE’s strategy for climate neutrality 2050, and the national policy for electric vehicles.
