المملكة: The late Lieutenant General Saeed Al-Qahtani…an honorable career in the security sector in the Kingdom

With service that extended in the security sector for more than five decades, the deceased – may God have mercy on him – is considered one of the prominent security figures who contributed to building and developing The security system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During that period, he rose to a number of sensitive leadership positions, and contributed to the development of security work, especially in the areas of criminal security, Hajj security, and holy sites.
Lieutenant General Al-Qahtani began his security service after graduating from King Fahd Security College in 1390 AH, where he was appointed to the rank of lieutenant on 3/13/1390 AH, and since then he joined field and security work, and obtained a Many specialized courses that enhanced his practical and professional experiences.
Most prominent professional milestones
During his career, he held a number of positions that constituted pivotal milestones in his professional path. He was appointed Director of Supply at the General Administration of Prisons, and worked in Criminal Security at Public Security. He also contributed to the preparation of security competencies through his work as an investigation teacher at the Institute of Forensic Evidence, where he prepared the scientific material specialized in this field.
He worked as Director of the Office of the Assistant Director of Public Security for Criminal Security, and in the year 1402 AH he was appointed Head of the Department of Psychological Case Investigation at Criminal Security, and in the same year he was assigned to lead the investigation units in the Arafat area, and he continued in this position for four years.
Continuous contributions to the development of Criminal work
In the year 1412 AH, Lieutenant General Al-Qahtani was appointed Director of the Criminal Investigation Division, then Director of the Criminal Security Department, continuing his significant contributions to the development of criminal work and enhancing the efficiency of field performance.
In the Hajj seasons for the years from 1406 AH to 1409 AH, he assumed leadership of the investigation units in the Mina area. He was also appointed Director of Criminal Security in the Holy Sites during the years from 1410 AH to 1409 AH. 1414 AH.
A decision was issued appointing him as Assistant Commander of the Hajj Security Forces for Criminal Security in the year 1414 AH, and during this stage he contributed to developing criminal security plans in Hajj and raising the level of security preparedness in one of the most sensitive and complex seasons.
His distinguished leadership career continued with his appointment as Director of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region Police on 3/1/1419 AH, then Deputy Commander of the Hajj Security Force in 1414 AH. 1423 AH, before he was appointed Director of Public Security starting in the year 1425 AH, a position that witnessed during his tenure qualitative stages of development in organization, readiness and security techniques, and he continued in it until his appointment as Assistant Minister of the Interior for Operations Affairs in the year 1435 AH.
