"Emergencies and crises" In Abu Dhabi, the coordination and follow-up center in Al Dhafra is activated

ABU DHABI, 10 JANUARY / WAM / The Center for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi announced the activation of the Coordination and Follow-up Center in the Al Dhafra region, in a strategic step that will enhance field readiness and raise its levels in one of the most expansive and diverse regions of the emirate in its geographical and economic nature.

Activating the coordination and follow-up center in the Al Dhafra region is part of the center’s efforts to enhance its field presence in all regions of the emirate in a way that suits the specificity of each region, and supports a rapid and effective response to any emergency event or potential crisis.

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Hamarain Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of the Response and Recovery Sector at the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Center of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, said that activating the coordination and follow-up center in the Al Dhafra region is an important step given the geographical extension and environmental diversity that this region enjoys, in addition to its strategic and economic importance, which calls for a special type of preparedness and coordination.

He stressed that this step comes in line with the vision of the Abu Dhabi government to enhance preparedness for crises in all regions of the emirate and build an advanced and integrated system.

He added that this activation embodies our transition from the central response stage to a more balanced stage characterized by the distribution of capabilities and getting closer to the centers of potential events.

He pointed out that this step falls within the Centre’s commitment to establishing a crisis management system that relies on spatial flexibility and institutional integration, thus enhancing the ability of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to protect its society and economy in the face of changing challenges.

Activating the coordination and follow-up center in Al Dhafra represents an additional pillar in the crisis management system of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and reflects the keenness of the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Center of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to develop a flexible response structure that takes into account the specificity of each region in the emirate, enhance field presence and integrate roles with partners and entities, and build a world-leading model in emergency, crisis and disaster management.
