Participants: The President’s Cup for Falconry is a unique platform for supporting traditional sports

ABU DHABI, 10 JANUARY / WAM / Participants in the thirteenth edition of the President’s Cup for Falconry, organized by the Abu Dhabi Falconers Club, whose activities continue until January 27 in Al Falah Square in Abu Dhabi, stressed its importance as a heritage station and a sports competition that strengthens the connection to cultural heritage.
Mohammed Ahmed Khalfan Al Mansouri, winner of the first half title in the general category, amateur – gear, Tabi Farkh, said that the competition is strong among the participants in the events, with great motivation because this tournament represents a name dear to everyone’s hearts, and a national legacy of interest in this authentic sport, especially since the first day witnessed wide participation of more than 90 competitors.
Nasser Butti Al Khaili, who was crowned champion of the General Amateur Gear category, pointed to the symbolism of the tournament, its great value to them, and its important role in enhancing interest in heritage races, pointing to the keenness of all competitors to participate in its activities, and the distinguished organization of the competitions by the Abu Dhabi Falconers Club.
Abdullah Sultan Ahmed Mejren, who ranked second in the General Amateur – Gear Tabi Farkh category, praised the importance of such tournaments, their pivotal role in consolidating heritage values, enhancing awareness of preserving the sport of fathers and grandfathers, the large participation of various groups on the first day, and the numbers reaching more than 90 contestants.
Contestant Khaled Badr Al Mazrouei, who won third place in the General Amateur – Gear Tabi Farkh category, described the tournament as a qualitative addition to this type of tournament and the great importance it represents in supporting national heritage and competition between contestants, especially since the UAE, thanks to the support of the wise leadership, has achieved its global status in interest in traditional sports.
