Muhammad Al-Gergawi: The One Billion Followers Summit has established itself as the largest global gathering of purposeful content makers in the world, with more than 30,000 participants attending.

DUBAI, 11 JANUARY / WAM / The One Billion Followers Summit, the largest global summit in the content industry economy, concluded its fourth edition, which was organized by the UAE Government Media Office and hosted by the UAE during the period from 9 to 11 January, at the Emirates Towers, the Dubai International Financial Center, and the Museum of the Future in Dubai, under the slogan “Purposeful Content.”
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, the activities of the fifth edition of the summit will be held during the period from January 8 to 10, 2027, with an agenda that keeps pace with the most prominent developments in the field of content industry, and continues to motivate content makers and influencers to adopt purposeful content and create a positive impact on their communities and humanity as a whole, and to consolidate the UAE’s leadership in the digital media sector and the content industry economy on a global level.
The next edition of the summit constitutes a new stage to continue the long success path of the global event since its inception, which has witnessed, over the course of the four sessions, a steady increase in both the richness and diversity of its agenda, the number of speakers from CEOs and distinguished international experts, as well as the broad participation of content makers and influencers.
The fourth edition of the One Billion Followers Summit witnessed unprecedented interaction through its success in attracting millions of followers on social media platforms, as the summit hashtag #1BillionSummit became one of the most followed hashtags around the world, throughout the days of the summit.
His Excellency Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, said: “The fourth edition of the One Billion Followers Summit achieved exceptional leaps, consolidating the UAE’s leadership in the content creation economy, with a focus on purposeful content capable of creating a positive impact on societies, which is clearly reflected by the number of attendees reaching more than 30,000 people, and with the participation of more than 15,000 content creators and influencers, which confirms the broad impact of the summit, and its growing role year after year in this growing sector.”
His Excellency added: “The summit’s agenda formed an umbrella that accommodated the most urgent and priority issues in the content creation economy, through 580 main sessions, round tables, dialogues, and workshops, during which more than 500 speakers and global experts spoke, followed by more than 3.5 billion followers. It strengthened its global position as a primary maker of impact by launching strategic partnerships with five major global platforms to promote meaningful content creation, which constitutes the summit’s self-commitment to its slogan. “Purposeful content” through these important partnerships.
His Excellency Mohammed Al Gergawi added: “The summit’s agenda’s focus on using artificial intelligence tools in content creation reflects a consistent approach to supporting content creators, by allocating a large part of its agenda to provide them with the latest and most capable tools to help them create a broader impact. In this context, the One Billion Followers Summit launched the AI Film Award competition in partnership with Google Gemini, with a grand prize of up to one million dollars. Its competition witnessed the participation of more than 30,000 people from 116 countries, in addition to many sessions and workshops in which specialists discussed The latest developments in the uses of artificial intelligence in the world of content creation, which represents an anticipation of the future of this sector, which is one of the sectors most full of opportunities, and the most influential of all other sectors.”
His Excellency said: “This great success, which the One Billion Followers Summit continues to achieve, plays a decisive role in shaping the future, and is a catalyst for the growth of its business in the coming sessions. This summit, which is considered the largest in the world in the content industry economy, reflects a strategic direction in the UAE to establish a sustainable economic sector full of opportunities in this field.”
His Excellency added: “The exemplary infrastructure, the enormous potential that the UAE enjoys, and the great trust and effective strategic partnership with the major international institutions and companies operating in this sector, represented the basis for the successes achieved by the One Billion Followers Summit, and it is the basis on which we will continue to build for more successes, gains, and opportunities for the content industry sector, which we expect to continue its growth, leaps, and escalation of its influence in the global economy.”
The fourth edition of the summit achieved many records and witnessed many qualitative events, initiatives and activities, representing the largest summit that brings together content makers in the world. The One Billion Followers Summit in its fourth edition included a qualitative agenda with more than 580 main sessions, round tables, dialogues and workshops during which more than 500 global speakers and experts spoke. The agenda in this edition focused on two main axes, the first: transforming content makers into impact makers, by creating meaningful content on social media. In this context, the summit launched several qualitative global initiatives, most notably the “Educational Content Creators Award” in cooperation with TikTok, the winner of which was honored during the activities of the second day. The award aimed to support the creation of educational and entertaining content and honor the best teachers, as 610,000 participants participated and resulted in 320,000 videos that garnered 1.8 billion views on the TikTok platform. The summit also launched 5 strategic partnerships with YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, the X platform, and Meta to support… Purposeful content. During the sessions, speakers also addressed various topics related to purposeful content, including financial awareness, education, health, society, and entrepreneurship.
It also launched the One Billion Followers Summit with global content creator Mr. Beast, the most followed influencer on YouTube, is a campaign: 1Billion Acts of Kindness, “a billion community actions.” Its idea was based on every content creator doing community work and submitting it to the campaign, as 20 content creators from around the world were selected to work on a humanitarian project with the support of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation and the Varkey Foundation. The campaign resulted in a record participation of more than 170,000 community actions, receiving more than 100 million views within 3 weeks.
The second axis focused on the use of artificial intelligence tools in content creation. In this context, the One Billion Followers Summit launched the AI Film Award competition in partnership with Google Gemini, with a grand prize of up to one million dollars. More than 30,000 people from 116 countries participated in the competition, and during the second day of the summit, director Zubair Al-Jalasi was honored for his award-winning film “Leili”. The summit agenda included many sessions and workshops in which specialists discussed the latest developments in the uses of artificial intelligence in the world of content creation.
