Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed visits the platform pavilion "Youth for sustainability" Within activities "Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026"
ABU DHABI, 14 JANUARY / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, visited the pavilion of the “Youth for Sustainability” platform, the leading global initiative led by “Masdar” to prepare a new generation of sustainability leaders, on the sidelines of the activities of “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026”, which is being held at the “ADNEC” Center in Abu Dhabi, until January 15 of this year.
During the visit, His Highness met with a number of members of the “Youth for Sustainability” platform, where he was briefed on the most prominent programs and initiatives that the platform is showcasing in this year’s edition of “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week,” as part of the platform’s efforts to develop the skills and competencies of young people, and enhance their pioneering contributions in supporting sustainability efforts at the local and global levels, by finding innovative solutions to climate and environmental challenges.
His Highness also exchanged conversations with those in charge of the “Youth for Sustainability” platform pavilion, praising the projects and initiatives presented by the pavilion, and their pivotal role in empowering young people and motivating them to continue to contribute effectively to supporting climate action efforts and advancing sustainability paths in various fields.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the importance of adopting an integrated and sustainable approach in empowering young people to prepare them as active partners in shaping the future of sustainability, by expanding the scope of employing advanced innovations, artificial intelligence solutions and modern technologies, in a way that enhances their ability to make a tangible and long-term impact in the environmental sectors and the vital energy sector, locally, regionally and globally.
During the visit, His Highness was accompanied by His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Masdar Company. His Excellency Muhammad Ali Al-Shurafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi; His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Humaid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Department of Energy – Abu Dhabi; His Excellency Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Head of the Office of the Crown Prince in the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
The program of events hosted by the platform pavilion includes discussion sessions and interactive dialogues with a group of experts, in addition to setting up platforms that showcase youth-led projects and innovations, and holding meetings aimed at establishing companies in cooperation with young talents and competencies in the field of sustainability.
The “Youth for Sustainability” platform’s pavilion attracts an elite group of senior officials and leaders of international and local companies, as well as experts and specialists in the fields of sustainability and climate action, thus enhancing the platform’s global standing in promoting climate dialogue, exchanging experiences and visions, and concluding strategic partnerships.
It is worth noting that the platform provides an integrated framework to empower young people and qualify them to lead sustainability efforts, through implementing qualitative programs and conducting educational and training experiences that contribute to developing future skills, stimulating innovation, and enhancing the role of youth in finding practical solutions to environmental and climate challenges.
