The UAE makes a voluntary contribution of US$1.5 million to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to support UN human rights programmes.

Geneva, January 15 / WAM / The UAE has provided a voluntary financial contribution of $1.5 million to support the activities and programs of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
This contribution reflects the UAE’s continued commitment to the United Nations human rights system and its support for the work of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in promoting and protecting human rights around the world.
This funding will support the programs and activities of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, in line with its mandate, including its humanitarian work, and will also contribute to efforts to promote the rights of children, older people, women and people of determination. It will also support the work of the Commission in strengthening international human rights mechanisms and providing assistance and cooperation to Member States.
The UAE’s contribution confirms its commitment to constructive cooperation with the United Nations and its support for international efforts aimed at promoting human rights and consolidating international cooperation in this field.
