Iyad Nassar and Menna Shalabi meet in “Under Siege”.. during Ramadan 2026

A month before the start of the 2026 Ramadan drama season, the Jordanian star, Iyad Nassar, revealed the scenes of the series “Under Siege,” which brings him together with the star Menna Shalabi, and delves into the essence of the dramatic experience, and its deep humanitarian and political content.
Nassar stated that the goal of the work is not to compete for the top of viewers’ lists, but rather it focuses – through its story – on presenting the idea, the artistic message, and narrating human moments in a real and documented way, and that all members of the series put that above any consideration.

The events of the series “Under Siege” take place within an exciting human dramatic framework, as it deals with the suffering and steadfastness of the people of Gaza under conditions of war, and the daily challenges they go through, through human stories that reflect pain and hope at the same time. Kamel Al-Basha and Tara Abboud participate in the series, alongside Iyad Nassar and Menna Shalabi. The series is written by Ammar Sabry and directed by Peter Mimi.
Nassar stated, during the telephone interview, that what concerns him most in the series is dealing with what happened and is happening in the Gaza Strip, considering that simply taking this decision, in itself, is an important and courageous step. He said: The work is not subject to the usual rules of dramatic conflict, nor to the logic of the series race, but rather stems from a sense of responsibility towards an issue present in everyone’s conscience.
He pointed out that the creators of the work dealt with the issue; As an artistic and humanitarian necessity, and not just dramatic material, stressing that talk about Gaza, at this time, cannot be fleeting or superficial.
Nassar stressed that the series “Under Siege” reveals that the primary goal is to restore the dignity of the Palestinian person, who for many years has been reduced to numbers and statistics.
He stressed that the series presents real stories, about people with lives, suffering, struggle and steadfastness, in an attempt to dismantle the stereotype and show the Palestinian people; As a living, vibrant people with life and details, not just passing scenes in the news.

Iyad Nassar
Iyad Nassar considered that the series “Under Siege” documents an important historical stage, what the Gaza Strip was exposed to, after the events of October 7, and which people are still suffering from until now, stressing that the work is presented to history before anything else. The series team was keen to highlight the greatness and steadfastness of the Palestinian people, sending a message of support and solidarity with the people of Gaza, and expressing its hope that the work would contribute to consolidating humanitarian awareness of the issue.
Nassar also spoke about his cooperation with director Peter Mimi, describing him as a capable director with great experience in action scenes, but in this work he does not only bet on this aspect, but rather delves deeply into painful human details.
