"Sharjah African Literature Festival 2026" It enriches the experiences of its visitors
Sharjah, January 15 / WAM / The second session of the Sharjah African Literature Festival, organized by the Sharjah Book Authority under the slogan “In the Footsteps of Africa,” witnessed a variety of activities that suit all age groups and depend on participation, exchange of skills, and linking the literary experience to its cultural and cognitive context.
Daily workshops form an essential part of the program, presented by a group of artists, craftsmen and cultural experts from all over Africa, and focus on traditional techniques, materials and local production methods to introduce visitors to African crafts and how they are passed down through generations within communities.
The workshops include sessions on traditional Swahili weaving that showcase skills passed down from generation to generation in making household products, while introducing participants to materials, patterns, techniques and implementation methods, in addition to a 3D drawing technique workshop that explores an approach to interacting with the cultural heritage of Zanzibar.
