Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council announces its participation in the UMEX and SimTEX exhibitions

2026 – The Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council (Tawazun) announced its participation in the activities of the seventh edition of the Unmanned Systems Exhibition “UMEX” and the Simulation and Training Exhibition “SIMTEX”, which were held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs and Chairman of the Intelligent Autonomous Systems Council, during the period from January 20 to 22, 2026 at the ADNEC Center in Abu Dhabi.

The Council will also participate in the activities of the International Defense Conference accompanying the two exhibitions, which will be held on January 19, 2026 under the slogan “Smart Horizons: Redefining the Defense Sector’s Independence Through Artificial Intelligence Applications.”

In addition, he will announce the deals concluded for the Ministry of Defense over the three days of the exhibition.

Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Tawazun Council for Defense Empowerment, expressed the Council’s aspiration to participate in these two exhibitions and the accompanying conference, which comes within the framework of its strategic objectives of empowering national capabilities, enhancing research and development, and providing support to specialized national industries, especially in the fields of unmanned systems, simulation, training, and artificial intelligence.

He also stressed the importance of the two exhibitions as they constitute an important opportunity for the defense industries sector to strengthen its relations with the most important and prominent international institutions and companies specialized in developing unmanned systems, pointing out that such exhibitions represent practical platforms for both manufacturers and suppliers of unmanned systems to display the latest innovations in this vital defense field in addition to establishing commercial relationships and strategic partnerships that will contribute to the development of national defense industries.

He explained that emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, have become a fundamental pillar in the contemporary defense sector, which prompted the Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council to adopt a number of specialized strategies and initiatives aimed at enabling the defense and security industries sector to integrate artificial intelligence technologies into all its solutions and products.

For his part, Saif Ali Al Marzouqi, Senior Advisor for Strategic and Executive Affairs at the Council, said that the Tawazun Pavilion at the two exhibitions will serve as a platform for reviewing the Council’s projects and initiatives and its trends towards excellence in defense industries. He pointed out that the Council’s pavilion will allow visitors to see the Tawazun Industrial Complex, in addition to a group of companies supported by the Council that specialize in developing unmanned systems, robots, and drones, such as Anvil, AirQ, Falcon IX, and Analog.

It is noteworthy that the Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council is a national body focused on translating defense and security priorities into tangible institutional, industrial and economic results in the United Arab Emirates.

The Council plays an essential role in supporting defense procurement by ensuring the strategic alignment of acquisition programs with long-term national capabilities requirements, while adhering to the principles of value return and industrial localization objectives.
