The UAE welcomes the announcement of the start of the second phase of the peace plan and the formation of the Palestinian National Committee

Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, welcomed the announcement of the start of the second phase of the comprehensive peace plan, and the official formation of the Palestinian National Committee for the Administration of the Gaza Strip, as a temporary transitional body established based on Security Council Resolution No. 2803.

She also appreciated the announcement by US President Donald Trump of the Peace Council, as a supportive framework for efforts to consolidate stability and advance the political path, praising in this context the leadership efforts he made, and the tireless efforts undertaken by the sisterly State of Qatar, the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, and the friendly Republic of Turkey, in supporting the peace path and enhancing opportunities for security and stability in the region.

She expressed her pride in her appointment as a member of the Gaza Executive Council, stressing that this appointment reflects international confidence in the UAE’s pioneering role and its consistent approach in supporting peace and transforming challenges into real opportunities for the people of Gaza and for all the peoples of the region.

Her Excellency added: “The UAE believes that achieving lasting peace requires concerted international efforts and managing the affairs of the Gaza Strip efficiently, in a way that guarantees the legitimate rights and aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people, and contributes to enhancing stability and supporting the peace path toward a more secure and prosperous future for the region.”

Her Excellency stressed the importance of building on what was achieved from the peace plan in Gaza, and working seriously to resume a comprehensive political process that leads to a two-state solution and a just and lasting settlement.
