Al Safi explained that the system currently includes 18 types of subscriptions, 7 types of permits, and 4 different options for reservations, in addition to the ability to pay parking fees in the Emirate of Dubai and other emirates, which reflects the expansion of the scope of services and the ease of access to them through digital channels.
He explained that reservations are divided into two types. The first is reservations with fees allocated to specific categories, according to what is stated in the applicable legislation, and includes hotels, banks, hospitals, and contracting companies, given the nature of the business and activities associated with these entities, while the second type falls within the free reservations allocated to citizens in front of their private residential homes, with the aim of preserving privacy and quality of life in residential areas.

Regarding the activation of the paid parking system in the International City area, starting from the first of next February, he explained that the area was facing a major challenge represented by the limited number of public parking spaces compared to the number of residential units, which caused severe crowding, which necessitated the implementation of a new operational and organizational model based on smart connectivity with both the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and the Land Department.
He explained that this connection aims to provide an optimal service to the officially registered residents in the area, and to organize the process of using parking in a contractual and operational manner, so that free parking is limited to the official residents, in exchange for allocating specific areas with paid parking for visitors and visitors to the area for the purposes of shopping or using facilities and services, in a way that achieves a balance between the needs of the population and the requirements of commercial activity.
Regarding the mechanism for studying the impact before implementing any new system or service, Al-Safi confirmed that “Parkin” works in ongoing partnerships with real estate developers, and periodic evaluations are conducted every three months to measure performance, and a joint platform has been created that allows developers to view data and statistics related to occupancy rates, levels of use, and the results of measuring customer satisfaction.
He pointed out that services are being developed based on these indicators on an ongoing basis, emphasizing that each region has its own characteristics, and that a unified model cannot be applied to all regions.
Regarding the future outlook, Al-Safi said that the year 2025 was exceptional, in terms of the scale of the challenges and the speed of the transformations witnessed by the parking sector, stressing that the year 2026 will be completely different, and will witness the announcement of qualitative achievements and pioneering initiatives that contribute to developing the sector and raising the efficiency and quality of services provided to the public.
