The King of Jordan is considering an invitation from Trump to join the peace council regarding Gaza

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement on Sunday that Jordanian King Abdullah II received an invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the peace council regarding Gaza, indicating that he is studying the documents related to it.

The ministry said that the Jordanian King received an invitation from the US President “to join the Peace Council, and that the documents related to the invitation are currently being studied in accordance with internal legal procedures.”

The ministry’s official spokesman, Fouad Al-Majali, confirmed that “the Kingdom appreciates the leadership role of President Trump in reaching a ceasefire in Gaza and launching the comprehensive peace plan and the efforts he is making to achieve security, stability and peace.”

The council, which Trump will chair, was formed after the launch of the second phase of the American plan aimed at putting an end to the war in Gaza.

The Council is supposed to supervise the work of the Palestinian committee of technocrats charged with managing the sector temporarily.

The features of the “Peace Council” began to take shape on Saturday, with the leaders of countries such as Türkiye, Egypt and Canada announcing that they had received an invitation from the US President to join it.
