I am no longer obligated to work for peace after being deprived of the Nobel Prize.

US President Donald Trump told Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Sture that he is no longer “obligated to work only for peace” after not being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, in a letter published Monday.

“Since your country has decided not to award me the Nobel Peace Prize after I stopped more than eight wars, I no longer feel obligated to work only for peace,” Trump wrote in a post addressed to Jonas Gahr Store.
He added that although peace will remain “prevailing,” he can “now think about what is good and appropriate for the United States.”

Storr responded that the Nobel Prize is not awarded by his country’s government.

“I explained clearly, including to President Trump, that the award is given by an independent committee,” he said.

Trump reiterated his desire to control Greenland, a position that has raised concern around the world.

“Denmark cannot protect this land from Russia or China,” he said.

He added, “Why do they even have the right to own it? There are no written documents. All that matters is that a boat docked there hundreds of years ago, but we also had boats that docked there.”

Trump continued in the post addressed to Jonas Gahr Store, “The world will not be safe unless we fully control Greenland.”

After Trump hoped to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, considering that he had stopped eight wars, the award was awarded to Venezuelan oppositionist Maria Corina Machado.
Last week, Machado said she “presented” the award medal to Trump.
