The Sharjah International Summit for Educational Development launches training programs to serve the educational community in the country

Sharjah, January 19 / WAM / The Sharjah Education Academy, in cooperation with the Sharjah Private Education Authority, will organize on February 14 and 15 next the fifth edition of the Sharjah International Summit for Educational Development under the slogan “Together we make impact” at the academy’s headquarters.

Today, the organizers announced the opening of registration for the advanced training courses and programs that will be held on February 13 within the pre-emptive day of the summit. These courses are designed to provide an advanced professional path that serves the educational community in the country and aims to support teachers, school leaders, educational policy makers, and researchers.

The sessions, presented by a group of academics and experts, focus on strategic axes related to the quality of education, the effectiveness of educational practices, and the well-being of the learner, which contributes to supporting evidence-based decision-making, enhancing the alignment of educational policies with field practices, and achieving a sustainable impact that reflects positively on the school environment and the educational system as a whole.

Dr. Pauline Taylor Guy, Director of the Sharjah Education Academy, said: The Proactive Day sessions of the Sharjah International Summit for Educational Development represent an organized space for thinking, interacting, and building shared knowledge, combining scientific research and field practice, and linking global experiences with the local context of the UAE. The Proactive Day is an essential component of the summit’s structure and vision, as it aims to enable teachers and education leaders to manage change with awareness and confidence within an educational system that emphasizes that the human being is the essence and focus of the educational process.

The advanced courses address pivotal issues in the development of education, including enhancing investment opportunities in the educational system in the Emirate of Sharjah, developing thinking skills and deep learning within the classroom, concepts of human-centered educational leadership and its role in supporting daily classroom practices, in addition to specialized courses in assessing learning in realistic contexts, cooperative learning, and employing artificial intelligence to support students’ learning and their preparation for tests, with a focus on the role of the family and the school in achieving responsible use of technologies.

The program also includes advanced courses in the field of high-quality educational research from a global perspective, presented by the International Association for Educational Research, and others that discuss the role of the large-scale international tests TIMSS, PIRLS, and PISA in supporting the development of educational policies and practices, in addition to a high-level closed session concerned with accelerating systemic transformation in early childhood education based on evidence-based evaluation tools and policies organized in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
