The 44th Police Shooting Championship competitions begin in Sharjah

Abu Dhabi, January 19 / WAM / The 44th edition of the Police Shooting Championship, organized by the Police Sports Federation at the Ministry of Interior, was launched during the period from January 19 to 29, and hosted by the Sharjah Police General Command, at the shooting ranges of the Police Sciences Academy in the Hadera area.
The first day of the tournament witnessed the participation of (100) male and female players, representing (9) teams from the sectors of the Ministry of Interior and the country’s police leadership, in addition to the Republic of Kazakhstan police national team.
The launch of the competitions was attended by His Excellency Brigadier General Dr. Muhammad Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the Academy of Police Sciences in Sharjah, Brigadier Dr. Omar Muhammad Al Khayal, Director of the Police Sports Federation Administration, Chairman of the Sports Committee of the Ministry of Interior, and a number of officers.
Holding the tournament comes within the framework of the Police Sports Federation’s strategy aimed at developing the capabilities and skills of members of the police forces, raising the level of field readiness, in addition to promoting a culture of positive competition and exchanging experiences among participants, which contributes to improving the efficiency of security performance and consolidating the concepts of professionalism and discipline.
The tournament’s activities include a number of specialized scenarios for shooting competitions, including the Friendship Competition for tactical police movement skills for men, and tactical movement skills shooting competitions for the elite categories, men, women, and officers, in addition to speed challenge competitions, police operations shooting with a rifle for men and women, and an accuracy challenge with a pistol, in addition to a sniper competition for men.
