CALDUS and General Atomics Aviation Systems collaborate to produce an aircraft "MQ-9B" And cooperative combat aircraft "Gambit"

ABU DHABI, January 20, 2017 (WAM) – Calidus Holding Group, which specializes in developing and manufacturing defense products, based in Abu Dhabi, and General Atomics Aviation Systems, the global company specializing in unmanned aircraft systems, signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the joint production of the MQ-9B drone and the Gambit Collaborative Combat Aircraft in the United Arab Emirates, in addition to command systems. Control and management of battles.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Khalifa Murad Al Balushi, Managing Director and CEO of CALDUS Holding Group, and David Alexander, President of General Atomics Aviation Systems, on the sidelines of the UMEX and SimTEX 2026 exhibitions.
The memorandum provides a framework for cooperation between the CALDUS Group, General Atomics Aviation Systems, and General Atomics Intelligence, which includes joint work on chassis manufacturing programs, manufacturing and production lines, tests and inspection, in addition to operational flight tests and acceptance processes.
Dr. Khalifa Murad Al Balushi said: “Signing the memorandum of understanding with General Automix, the world’s leader in the field of drones, represents a strategic step in enhancing and empowering the group’s capabilities in the unmanned systems sector in line with user requirements. This cooperation comes in light of the rapid growth of the sector regionally and globally, based on reliable manufacturing expertise and capabilities of both parties. It also opens broader horizons for future partnerships in the fields of innovation, knowledge transfer, and expanding the scope of manufacturing to achieve common interests.”
For his part, David Alexander said: “Cooperating with partners within the UAE enables us to benefit from their leading expertise and advanced capabilities in the region. For us, this agreement represents an affirmation of our shared commitment to long-term cooperation, promoting technological innovation, and supporting the development of our aircraft in the UAE.”
The cooperation constitutes a qualitative step, as it is the first project in which General Atomics aircraft are manufactured in the region, which contributes to meeting the growing demand for the MQ-9B drone and the Gambit cooperative combat aircraft in the region and the world.
