Al Dhafra Book Festival reviews efforts to empower people of determination
Abu Dhabi, January 21 / WAM / Al Dhafra Book Festival 2026, organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, until January 25, reviewed the efforts to empower people of determination and the role of the family in supporting them and integrating them into society.
A community lecture held as part of the festival’s activities addressed the importance of empowering people of determination as a fundamental pillar for building a cohesive and comprehensive society.
The lecture, which was organized yesterday in cooperation with the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, in Madinat Zayed Public Park, in which Ahmed Al Hammadi, leader of the group of vocational rehabilitation trainers, spoke, focused on the fact that the professional and social empowerment of people of determination is closely linked to the role of the family.
Al Hammadi stressed that the year 2026, which the UAE declared “the Year of the Family,” is an important milestone for strengthening this role, as the family and specialized institutions represent an integrated circle in which each party works to support the other, ensuring the empowerment of people of determination and taking their hands towards independence and effective community participation.
He reviewed inspiring success stories achieved by people of determination in various sports, professional and craft fields, stressing that these models reflect the extent of the potential of this group, and highlight the importance of cultural and community initiatives, such as the Al Dhafra Book Festival, in supporting them and highlighting their achievements, in line with the state’s vision of building a comprehensive, cohesive, and knowledge-based society.
He pointed out that the authority provides comprehensive enabling services that include specialized medical support through medical and diagnostic teams, in addition to rehabilitation services using the latest supportive technologies, in addition to digital facilities.
He touched on the role played by the Authority in community and sports support through specialized initiatives and clubs, in addition to facilitating access to services and employment, and marketing the products of people of determination, in a way that enhances their financial and social independence, and dedicates the concept of community partnership.
