Mansour bin Zayed chairs the meeting of the Supreme Committee regarding the water and electricity sector in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 21 JANUARY / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the Water and Electricity Sector in Abu Dhabi, chaired the committee meeting held today at Qasr Al Watan.

During the meeting, developments in the water and electricity sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi were discussed, and future growth plans for the sector, which are based on main axes, most notably the diversification of energy and water sources, including increasing reliance on clean, renewable, low-carbon energy sources, in addition to raising consumption efficiency through the use of technology and artificial intelligence, in order to achieve the principle of reducing waste and loss, whether in energy or water, as well as harmonizing all sector activities in a way that provides real support for government efforts in achieving economic sustainability. Environmental and societal, in light of the growth witnessed by the emirate in various sectors, which enhances Abu Dhabi’s global position as a center for the energy and water treatment industry.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and CEO of ADNOC and its group of companies, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Head of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and Head of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, His Excellency Jassim Mohammed Buataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Finance – Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Mohammed Hassan Al Suwaidi, Minister of Investment and CEO and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Holding Company (ADQ). His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Humaid Al Jarwan, Head of the Department of Energy.
