"Literature, publishing and translation" The Kingdom’s pavilion was inaugurated at the Cairo Book Fair 2026


I launched Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority Today, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s pavilion participating in Cairo International Book Fair 2026, in its fifty-seventh session, organized by the Egyptian General Book Authority during the period from January 21 to next February 3, in the presence of the Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Saleh bin Eid Al-Hussaini, and they were received by the CEO of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasel.

Al-Wasel confirmed that the Authority seeks By participating in the Cairo International Book Fair, we aim to raise the level of awareness of the Saudi cultural heritage and highlight its depth of knowledge as an integral component of the Kingdom’s cultural identity and diversity, in addition to introducing local intellectual and literary production and the development and renewed movement it is witnessing.

Diversity of the Cultural Scene

He explained that the Authority is working through this participation to introduce its programs and initiatives in the fields of literature, publishing and translation, and to support the presence of Saudi publishing houses and writers in international forums. And to highlight their impact globally, reflecting the diversity of the cultural scene in the Kingdom and the richness of its creative achievement.

He pointed out that the exhibition constitutes an important platform for communication and knowledge exchange between publishers and intellectuals from various countries of the world, which contributes to expanding the horizons of cultural cooperation and enhancing the Kingdom’s presence on the regional and international literary scene.

The Kingdom’s participation

The Kingdom’s participation in the Cairo International Book Fair reflects the integration of the national cultural scene, as it includes ten government agencies, led by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority, And with the participation of The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language, the Saudi Cultural Mission in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the King Abdulaziz Public Library, the King Fahd National Library, the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Noble Qur’an, the Arab Observatory for Translation, the Saudi Criticism Laboratory, and the Publishing Society.

Literary and Cultural Seminars

The Kingdom’s participation also includes an accompanying cultural program, organized by the Literary and Publishing Authority. And translation, and brings together an elite group of Saudi writers and intellectuals, through literary and cultural seminars and poetry evenings, that celebrate the contemporary Saudi cultural movement, and highlight the effectiveness of its presence and influence in the Arab cultural scene, which contributes to enriching cultural dialogue and expanding the horizons of interaction with the exhibition’s audience.

This participation comes in the context of the Kingdom’s keenness to strengthen its cultural presence in major Arab and international book fairs, support the publishing industry, and expand bridges of cultural and knowledge cooperation with various Countries of the world.
