"Knight Ibrahim Ali" Champion of the Sultan bin Zayed Endurance Race

ABU DHABI, 22nd January, 2017 (WAM) – Horseman Ibrahim Ali Sabeel, riding Farisbos Kibrat, for MAP Stables, won the title of the Special Stables Endurance Race, over a distance of 100 km.
The race was held today at the Boudheib International Endurance Village in Abu Dhabi, as part of the opening activities of the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed International Endurance Festival, which will be held until next Monday.
The competition witnessed the participation of 170 male and female riders, and was organized by the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation. The champion recorded a time of 3:42:52 hours, with an average speed of 26.92 km/hour. The second came to the jockey Zubaida Ali, with “Amara TE” for Al Ramk Stables, with a time of 3:51:04 hours, and the third was the jockey Rashid Al Muhairi, riding “Turk K” for the stables. Zabeel clocked 3:51:34 hours.
The winners were crowned by Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Equestrian Federation, Abdullah Al Naqbi, Director of the Federation’s Support Services Department, Mohammed Hatem Al Junaibi, Director of Events at Boudheib International Endurance Village, and Sultan Al Hosani, Head of the Federation’s Marketing Department.
Tomorrow, the festival’s competitions will continue with a 100 km women’s race, with the participation of an elite group of Emirati female jockeys, along with female jockeys representing various stables and clubs in the country.
The race begins in 4 stages, with the first being 30 km, followed by the second for a similar distance, then the third for 20 km, and the fourth for 20 km as well. The village of Boudheib has completed veterinary examinations and weights of the participants, according to the approved regulations.
