The Ruler of Sharjah witnesses the first showing of the theatrical epic "Al-Zeer Salem" At Al Majaz Theater
Sharjah, January 23, WAM / His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, witnessed this evening (Friday), in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, the first showing of the theatrical epic “Al-Zeer Salem” at Al Majaz Theater in Sharjah.
Upon his arrival, His Highness was received by Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Head of the Department of Statistics and Community Development, Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Head of the Department of Suburbs Affairs, Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Director of the Department of Statistics and Community Development, and a number of senior officials. His Highness shook hands with a number of media figures and artists.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah watched the theatrical performance “Al-Zeer Salem,” which draws inspiration from one of the most prominent epics in Arab heritage, presenting a contemporary artistic treatment that mixes dramatic depth and human presentation, and rereads the legend with a new vision that goes beyond traditional templates, in a visual and narrative style that reflects the development of Arab theater and the richness of its contents.
The theatrical performance dealt with the events of the Al-Basous War, following the path of the character of Al-Zeer Salem, “Abu Laila Al-Muhalhal,” in his struggle to avenge his brother Kulaib within a theatrical reading that preserves the epic and poetic character of the work, with a focus on the internal conflict between the concepts of revenge and justice in its human dimensions. The show presents human dimensions related to the concepts of reconciliation and tolerance, in line with cultural values.
At the conclusion of the theatrical performance, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah shook hands with the work team of the play “Al-Zeer Salem”, including actors, performers, technicians, and directing and production officials, thanking them for their work in presenting a historical theatrical epic, and wishing them success.
A number of veteran Arab artists participated in the theatrical show, and the work was presented with an integrated directorial vision, based on the use of various artistic elements, which contributes to presenting a balanced theatrical experience that combines authenticity and contemporary expression, supported by advanced visual elements, including animated designs that keep pace with the story’s transformations with the dramatic rhythm of Arabic music, in addition to lighting and sound effects that enhance the dramatic atmosphere and support the theatrical narration.
The presentation of the play “Al-Zeer Salem” in the Emirate of Sharjah comes in the context of the support given by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to cultural and artistic projects, which are concerned with reviving Arab heritage and presenting it within contemporary creative visions, which reflects His Highness’s commitment to supporting the arts as an essential element in building cultural awareness and promoting civilizational dialogue.
The theatrical show “Al-Zeer Salem” will be held at Al Majaz Theater in Sharjah, for three days, starting today until next Sunday, with a daily show, while the duration of the theatrical show extends to 120 minutes, distributed over successive dramatic scenes in which the acting elements are integrated, to provide a rich theatrical experience that takes the audience on an epic journey charged with dramatic escalation and a deep human dimension.
