A state of emergency in 18 US states in anticipation of the winter storm… and Trump is watching

Millions in the United States are preparing for a storm that is likely to be among the most severe winter storms to hit the country in recent years.
The ANB News network said on Saturday that more than 180 million people are on alert, according to the German News Agency.
At least 18 states declared a state of emergency, including New York, Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Missouri.
The American authorities announced the cancellation of more than 8,000 flights that were scheduled to take off at the beginning of the week as a major storm approaches that is expected to leave devastation across large parts of the country, threatening to cut off power for days and obstruct major highways.
The National Weather Service forecast bulletin warned of widespread, heavy snowfall, and a band of catastrophic ice extending from eastern Texas to North Carolina.
US President Donald Trump said that he had been informed about the severe winter storm that would hit the United States, and added that his administration was coordinating with officials and that the Federal Emergency Management Agency was “fully prepared to respond.”
Trump posted on his account on his “Truth Social” platform, saying: “I have been informed of the record cold wave and historic winter storm that will hit most parts of the United States. The Trump administration is coordinating with state and local officials. The Federal Emergency Management Agency is fully prepared to respond. Stay safe and stay warm!”
