Saud bin Saqr witnesses the concert of the National Orchestra in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah, 25 January / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, witnessed the concert of the National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates, which was held on the stage of the Ras Al Khaimah Creative Center of the Ministry of Culture, entitled “The Beginning”, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, His Excellency Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, and Sheikha Alia. Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Director General of the National Orchestra, and a number of senior officials, those interested in music and arts, and community members.
His Highness the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah stressed that this artistic event reflects the depth of Emirati culture and its rich creative heritage, noting that music and the arts contribute to preserving national identity and enhancing its presence in societal awareness.
His Highness explained that the National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates represents a qualitative addition to the cultural scene in the country, with the performances it presents that bring orchestral music closer to the audience, and highlight the features of the Emirati identity in modern artistic forms, in addition to its role in developing talents, refining musicians, and establishing standards of professional performance.
His Highness said: We in Ras Al Khaimah believe that culture is a pillar of quality of life, and therefore we support initiatives that empower creators and give the public the opportunity to interact with the arts in its various forms, thus consolidating the emirate’s presence in the cultural and artistic scene at the level of the country, the region and the world.
The concert is part of a series of musical and artistic events held by the National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates in various parts of the country, with the aim of expanding the scope of cultural participation and providing musical experiences that reflect the national heritage and the spirit of innovation.
The orchestra began its program with a performance that celebrated the musical heritage rooted in Emirati culture, in a performance that combined melody, rhythm, and the interaction of place, evoking the features of the formation of Emirati music through poetry, folk tales, societal memory, and the environment.
The show derived its creative elements from various traditional styles, including Al-Taghrouda, Al-Ayyala, Al-Aahla and Al-Nadba, presenting an authentic artistic experience that highlighted the values of belonging and cohesion, and highlighted the role of music in preserving heritage and strengthening community ties across generations.
The concert also included the “The Beginning” symphony, an Emirati symphony performed for the first time, composed by Nadim Tarbi, which mixes traditional melodies with the symphonic template, and a group of international musical pieces, which the orchestra presented with perfection, and received the approval of the audience and the audience’s interaction, in embodying its mission to consolidate the culture of orchestral music.
It is noteworthy that the National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates is a cultural initiative that aims to establish a national orchestra based on the Emirati musical heritage, enhance community cohesion, develop the music sector in the country, and support national talents through professional paths that provide opportunities for musicians.
