المملكة: Saudi Arabia begins delivering oil derivatives to power stations across Yemen


Start The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen in providing Oil derivatives for more than 70 stations distributed throughout Yemen, which were launched today from the headquarters of the Yemeni Oil Company "PetroMasila"Grant shipments to be delivered to all generating stations in the Yemeni governorates.

This is in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership – may God support them – on Rajab 25, 1447 AH, corresponding to January 14, 2026 AD, to provide a grant for oil derivatives to operate all Electricity stations in the sisterly Republic of Yemen, and as an extension of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s continued support for the brotherly Yemeni people.

The oil derivatives grant comes in support of the electricity sector, enhancing living and social stability, and raising the capacity and efficiency of Yemeni institutions to enable them to continue providing basic services, and operating production and service facilities, in a way that supports the path of development and economic recovery in the Republic of Yemen.

Stimulating the economy Yemeni

The total quantities of the petroleum derivatives grant amount to 339 million liters of diesel and diesel at a value of 81.2 million US dollars, and it came in accordance with comprehensive and integrated governance to ensure that the quantities reach the final beneficiary, as a committee was formed that includes several Yemeni bodies working to supervise and control the distribution of petroleum derivatives to power plants based on the need presented by the power generation plants in the Yemeni governorates.

The developmental importance is highlighted. The grant is an integrated support tool that enhances the efficiency of government institutions, stimulates the Yemeni economy, and positively affects the improvement of services provided to the Yemeni brothers by raising the reliability of electrical power in hospitals, medical centres, roads, schools, airports and ports, and enhancing economic and commercial activity.

The effects of this grant extend to include integrated financial, economic and service dimensions, by supporting Yemeni institutions such as the Central Bank of Yemen, by reducing pressure on foreign exchange reserves.

/>At the level of the Yemeni Ministry of Finance, it contributes to reducing the financial burden on the state’s general budget associated with fuel costs and the operation of the electricity sector.

Stability of fuel supplies

At the level of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, the grant plays a pivotal role in ensuring the stability of fuel supplies to power generation stations and the continuity of their operation, raising the efficiency of generating stations and improving their operational and production capacity.

It is noteworthy that an agreement was signed between the Yemeni Ministry of Energy and Electricity and the oil company. Yemeni "PetroMasila"And the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, on January 21, 2026 AD; This is to buy petroleum derivatives from "PetroMasila" By the program, to enhance the work of national facilities in Yemen, operate vital Yemeni facilities, and revitalize the role of Yemeni companies as an active partner in the energy system, which contributes to enhancing the sustainability of electricity, and reflects positively on the level of commercial and economic activity in Yemen, and which contributes to enhancing living and social stability and supports comprehensive development in Yemen.

It is noteworthy that the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen provided grants for oil derivatives, which included a grant in the year 2018 AD worth $180 million, as well as a grant in 2021 AD worth $422 million, in addition to a grant in 2022 AD worth $200 million, in addition to the current grant for the year 2026 AD.
