Israel returned the remains of the “last hostage” held in the Gaza Strip

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday praised the recovery of the remains of the “last hostage” who had been held in the Gaza Strip since the Hamas attack on the south of the Hebrew state on October 7, 2023.
“This is an exceptional achievement for the State of Israel. We promised – and I promised – to bring everyone back. We have brought them all back, even to the last hostage,” Netanyahu said, shortly after the Israeli army announced it had identified the remains of Ran Gvili, a policeman who was killed during the attack.
The Prime Minister added, “It is a great achievement for the Israeli army,” noting that the Israeli forces found the body based on intelligence information obtained from the Hamas movement.
