The UAE national team strengthens its lead in…"Dubai International Basketball" With a third win

Dubai, January 27 / WAM / The UAE basketball team strengthened its lead in Group A in the 35th edition of the Dubai International Basketball Championship, after defeating Al-Nasr team, with a score of 101-90, in the match that brought them together at the Rashid bin Hamdan Hall in Al-Nasr Club, within the third round competitions.

The UAE national team raised its score to 6 points, achieving the full mark with three consecutive victories, while Al-Nasr fell to fifth place with 3 points.

In the same group, Al-Wahda of Syria defeated Al-Ittihad of Libya with a score of 96-91, raising its score to 5 points in second place, while Al-Ittihad of Libya fell to third place with 4 points.

In the second group competitions, Al-Ahly Tripoli of Libya achieved its second victory in a row by defeating Al-Karama of Syria with a score of 99-68, raising its score to 4 points, which is the same score as Al-Karama, which played three matches to occupy second and third places, respectively.

Within the same group, and at the end of the round’s matches, Lebanon’s Beirut defeated the Tunisian African with a score of 95-83, after a strong match that ended in a 80-80 draw, so the two teams decided to go to an extra half, which Beirut decided in its favor, raising its score to 5 points from three matches and topping the group standings, while the African’s balance reached 3 points from two matches in fourth place.

The first round competitions will continue tomorrow with 3 matches, where the Libyan Al-Ittihad will meet the Syrian Redemption Homs in the first group, then the Syrian Al-Karama will face the Tunisian African Club, with the round concluding with the Philippine Zamboanga facing the Libyan Al-Ahly Tripoli.
