Dubai Customs launches a training center for inspection device operators

Yesterday, the Dubai Customs Department revealed its new project, “The Approved Center for Training Customs Inspection Device Operators,” which aims to raise the efficiency of customs inspection and develop the skills of inspectors in accordance with the highest international standards. The department stated in a statement that the launch of the new center came within the framework of its participation with the world in celebrating World Customs Day, which falls on January 26 of each year.

Director General of Dubai Customs, Dr. Abdullah Busnad, said that the “Approved Center for Training Customs Inspection Device Operators” project represents a strategic pillar in the community protection system, by building qualified customs competencies capable of dealing with security risks with efficiency and high vigilance, and contributes to achieving a balance between security control and accelerating customs procedures.

In turn, Yasser Al-Musalmi, Senior Consultant for Customs Affairs and Supervisor of the Customs Inspection Sector at Dubai Customs, said, “Customs inspection represents the cornerstone of the community protection system, as it is the first line of defense in protecting the country’s borders, combating smuggling, and addressing security risks, in a way that enhances the state of stability that the UAE enjoys.”
