The Brazilian women’s coach is counting on Marta in the 2027 World Cup

The coach of the Brazilian women’s national football team, Artur Elias, is counting on the legend Marta, who will turn forty in February, to participate in the 2027 World Cup, which will be held in his country, according to what he said in an interview with Agence France-Presse.

The coach explained, “I’m counting on her, and on all the ready-made players, like Marta, but neither she nor I know if she will participate. Only time will tell.”

The veteran number 10 returned to the national team last May, after a nine-month absence to play friendly matches. In June, she played a friendly match against France in Grenoble (France won 3-2), before being summoned to Copa America last July.
