Three French tourists died in a boat capsize off the coast of the Sultanate of Oman

Three people were killed and two others were injured in A boat carrying French tourists capsized off the coast of the Sultanate of Oman, according to what the local police announced on Tuesday.
The Royal Oman Police reported on the X platform that there was preliminary information about "A boat capsized 2.5 nautical miles (about 4.6 kilometers) from Sultan Qaboos Port in the Wilayat of Muttrah"
The statement added that the boat contained "A group of twenty-five tourists of French nationality" Including them "The tour guide and the boat captain resulted in the death of three tourists and two with minor injuries"
Circumstances of the accident
The police indicated that investigations are still ongoing to determine the circumstances of the accident.
The Sultanate of Oman is attracting increasing numbers of tourists from around the world searching for authenticity and the beauty of nature.
The country received about four million visitors in the year 2024, while the government aims to triple this number by 2040 by focusing on Sustainable tourism.
