المملكة: Urgent: Medical and shelter… The King Salman Center provides new aid to Yemen


A relief convoy arrived yesterday provided by King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid to Ma’rib Governorate, carrying (1,440) shelter bags and (1,680) tents on board; To contribute to meeting the increasing humanitarian needs of families displaced to the governorate, within the fifth phase of the emergency shelter plan project in Yemen.

Today, the Center also inaugurated the shock wave lithotripsy unit at the Specialized Center for Kidney and Urinary Tract Surgery in the Hadhramaut Valley and Desert, as part of the project to secure medical equipment for the specialized centers, in cooperation with the Office of the Ministry of Public Health and Population.

The Director of the Office of the Ministry of Public Health and Population in the Hadhramaut Valley and Desert, Dr. Hani Al-Amoudi, appreciated the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Relief Center and its support. The continuous development of the health sector, stressing that these specific projects represent an important addition to the health infrastructure and contribute – God willing – to improving the quality of medical care in the valley and desert of Hadhramaut, indicating that this unit is a response to the urgent need for such specialized services, which contributes to reducing the costs of travel for treatment outside the governorate, and enhances the level of health services in Yemen.

Food Aid Project

In the same context, the King Salman Center distributed (4,700) baskets yesterday. Food supplies in the Al-Sum and Sayun districts of Hadhramaut Governorate, benefiting 32,900 individuals, as part of the emergency food aid project in Yemen.

This support comes within the framework of the ongoing humanitarian and relief role undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the King Salman Relief Center, to alleviate the suffering of our brothers in Yemen in light of the difficult humanitarian and living conditions they are experiencing.
